Frequently asked questions

What are the most common questions people ask you about family protection orders?

We often get asked about the scope of family protection orders, our role and how we can assist in these situations. People are also curious about the legal processes involved and the potential outcomes.

Family Protection Orders are there to literally protect you when you are in the most volitile of situations. We can assist by having all your paper work filled in and ready to go to court to get the orders you need to protect you.

Whilst we do not and are not able to guarantee the outcomes of your case we do what we can with the information you have given us to get those orders for you.

What makes your approach to assisting clients with family protection orders unique?

Our approach is unique because we combine legal knowledge with a supportive, client-focused service. We take the time to understand each client's specific circumstances and tailor our assistance to their needs.

Are there any misconceptions you'd like to clear up regarding your services or family law in general?

One common misconception is that we are a substitute for solicitors. While we can provide invaluable support and guidance, we do not provide legal representation. Another misconception is that family law is straightforward; it often involves complex emotional and legal factors.

How much do the Orders cost?

We offer a fixed fee service for all orders. Occasionally there may need to be extra work involved but this will be disclosed to you if that is the case. For example: You may need an application for where a child has been taken, or where a child has been taken abroad.

What two key pieces of advice do you find yourself repeating to clients seeking family protection orders?

We  advise clients to gather as much evidence as possible, to remain calm and composed during legal proceedings, and to seek professional support to navigate the emotional challenges involved. It's also essential to understand the legal criteria for obtaining a family protection order.

We also strongly advise that no one goes into Family Court without representation. We can assist you with options for a Direct Access Barrister to assist you in Court therefore ensuring that you are not on your own in this unfamiliar territory.
